Love and admiration for someone who continually causes pain is complicated. Love letters are one of the oldest and purest forms of expressing love and affection but love can also be morbid and horrifying. Vulnerability can be shown in many ways; sorrow, confusion, and desperation. I use the “love letter” to present that dichotomy of emotions within this series of paintings.
